DIOnavi ecosystem products and surgical kits

How to keep your surgical kit clean.

In order to ensure surgical success, the drilling kit and all components used in implant procedures need a thorough deep cleaning. DIO is committed to guiding dentists in every step of the pre-, during-, and post-surgery.

Pre-surgery.

  • All surgical drills in the DIOnavi drilling kit are Swiss designed and engineered. Since each of them is reusable, sanitization is crucial in preventing cross-infection in patients, corrosion on drills, and erosion of sharpness.
  • Each step is equally important. Cleaning. Drying. Sterilizing. Storing. Ignoring one can negatively affect bone tissue.
  • Clean the drill with an antiseptic solution. Gently brush to remove biological debris and clean with cold water to remove any remaining antiseptic. This process prevents corrosion.
  • All non-sterilized products must be sterilized at 132ºC for 15 minutes or at 135º for 10 minutes with a high-pressure steam sterilizer prior to use.
  • Run the sterilizer on the pre-vacuum method for 15 minutes and then let dry for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse and immerse tools in cold water using a non-toxic, neutral solution, water-soluble cleaning agent.
  • Visually examine tools for any remaining bone fragments or debris, and scrub as necessary.
  • Pack kit components into sterilization pouches to protect from contamination after sterilization.
  • Do not reuse implants, cover screws, or abutments. Reusing will lead to an increased risk of product failure, functionality, and contamination.

Handle with care.

  • Before surgery, check if the equipment is polluted.
  • The product should only be used for dental surgery and in the proper order.
  • When drilling, spray saline solution to prevent the bone from overheating.
  • Determine bone density and precisely drill into it at the proper speed.
  • Surgical drills can become dull. Replace when cutting force decreases.
